Collection Description
This collection offers an introduction to project management by providing students with the professional and personal skills needed to be a successful project manager. Students will discover the project lifecycle and planning steps included in building a project from conception to completion. Project management principles, methods, and best practices are emphasized.
COURSE SUMMARY
This course provides students with the basic knowledge and skills of managing projects for ministries, churches, non-profit organizations, and other missional organizations. Therefore, students will gain an understanding of project management through engaging with course content and building their own project management charter and plan. Students will begin by studying and applying basic project management principles and methods by focusing on the project management triple constraint triangle, the project manager’s role within the lifecycle of a project, and the distinctions between leading project management frameworks. These topics lay the foundation for the development of a project charter and plan relevant to the students’ professional goals and aspirations. Students will conclude the course by developing project management communication and presentation skills.
